Agenda
During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.
- Considering whether you, your family and your home are suited to this activity
- Investigating the market – target groups
- Learn about the business fundamentals
- Explore the people skills needed – acceptable guest house behaviour, smoking, analysing complaints, and time management
- Learn about running your business – reservation systems, deposits, banking
- Learn how to organise the housekeeping – cleaning routines etc.
- Organising food and beverages – menus, licences etc.
- Considering marketing and promotions – public relations, letterhead, brochures etc.

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

- Learned how to organise the business and the services required
- Learned about marketing and advertising
