Excel Pivot Tables
Understand how to create customised Pivot Tables in Excel for easy and flexible data analysis. Learn to create and modify Pivot Tables by adding fields, summarising data amd filtering data. Learn to create and modify Pivot Charts.
Pre-requisite skills: Students must have a thorough understanding of Excel to attend this course.
Agenda
During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered-but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the flexible nature of Adult Education classes parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.
- Create a simple Pivot Table
- Add fields to a Pivot Table
- Filter rows and columns
- Format a Pivot Table
- Summarise data with standard functions
- Create a Pivot Chart
- Data techniques
Objectives
The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Understand how to create and modify Pivot Tables in Excel
- Understand how to create and modify Pivot Charts in Excel
Other Information
Basic knowledge of Excel with sound knowledge of entering data and performing basic calculations.
Please bring a floppy disk (or other portable storage device) to save work to.
Optional – Bring along sample data to analyse and work on.
Design & Technology Ctr, cnr Gordon St & Victoria Rd, Rozelle. If driving, no left turn into Gordon St, so turn left into Lilyfield Rd, then first right into Gordon St.
