This process is essential to those who want to understand the principles of bookkeeping, whether they use MYOB or other computerised bookkeeping packages. Assessment will be made against Process accounts payable and receivable BSBFIA303A, a unit of competency from the Certificate III in Business, BSB30107.
Agenda
During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.
- Learn about accounting terms and functions
- Set up the Purchases and Sales Journal
- Use the Cash Journal
- Practice using procedures for Purchases, Sales and Cash
- Learn about General Journal & Double-entry accounting
- Learn about Final Accounts
Objectives
The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.
By the end of the course the student will have:
- Understood the double entry accounting principle
- Learned how to keep a full set of books
- Prepared final accounts
