If you want to learn about digital photography in Sydney, then this course is for you.

If you have a digital camera or are thinking of buying one, this course will equip you with the knowledge and tools to ignite your creativity and imagination. Assessments will be made against ICPMM321A Capture a Digital Image, an elective unit of competency from the Certificate II in IT, ICA20105.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

  • Understand the various settings on your camera
  • Understand the PC, manipulation and CD ROMs
  • Introduction to Image manipulation software
  • Creation of albums, slide show and web albums
  • Creation of Project
  • Using a scanner and digital photo software
  • Resolution and Prints

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of the course the student will have:

  • Knowledge on how to operate a Digital Camera
  • Downloaded Images onto a PC
  • Manipulated Images
  • Learned Technique on Image Capture
  • Discussed problems and Tips and Tricks
  • Learned how to put your Images online

Other Information

Students need:

  • Photography Essentials
  • Computing Essentials (or equivalent)
  • Photoshop (PC or Mac)

You need to have a basic understanding of how a PC works. It is preferable to have a digital camera, but not essential.
