Introduction to the Stockmarket
If you want to an introductory course to the Stockmarket in Sydney, then this course is for you.
Investing in the share market is a great short and long term way of creating wealth. However, uninformed investors are at risk of losing their investments. This general knowledge course explores all the essentials of share investing, including risk and reward in shares, operation of the market, analysing shares, sourcing useful information for your decision making, leverage and how to reduce your risks.

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

Objectives
The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.
By the end of this course, the students will have:
- Understood the pros and cons of investing in shares
- An understanding of the basic terminology and workings of some ratios
- An understanding the importance of reading Financial Review and other financial materials
- Explored the type of investor you might be
- An understanding of basic financial reporting
- Learned what to consider when building a portfolio including different methodologies to evaluate share investing
- Learned different sources of information to tap in your decision making
