Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

  • The secrets of negotiating the best deal in your favour with real estate agents and vendors
  • The reasons why vendors sell real estate and how this affects the asking price
  • How an agent really gets paid their commission and how this affects the way they negotiate the deal
  • How to spot a good agent and a bad agent and understanding their role and how they are programmed to sell and negotiate
  • Why it is important to have the right “attitude” when dealing with real estate agents.

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of the course, students will have:

  • Learned the correct question to ask real estate agents and vendors to give you the right answers you need
  • An understanding of what really motivates the real estate agent and vendor to sell to you. You will learn proven strategies that will help you secure the deal in your favour.
  • Learned how to get the agent on your side and how you can get them working for you and not the vendor
  • Learned negotiating techniques and tactics that will save you thousands of dollars. There are great case studies and examples that will help you in this section of the workshop.

It is recommended that you attend the First Home Buyers – Become Educated course first, if you have not purchased real estate before.
