If you want to gain a certificate in Training and Assessment in Sydney, then this course is for you.

This course provides participants with the necessary steps to determine individual and team learning needs, facilitate and provide opportunities for development in a variety of situations ie one to one, teams, coaching etc. Participants will develop their skills so that workplace learning is planned and relevant.

This course contains the following units of competency:

  • TAADEL403A Facilitate individual learning
  • TAADEL404A Facilitate work-based learning
  • BSBCMN404A Develop teams and individuals

Please Note: In order to successfully complete this qualification you will need to deliver training for a group of learners in your workplace. If you are not currently employed as a trainer we will ask you to either volunteer your services to a community organisation OR we will provide a simulated workplace on your behalf. During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

  • What is work based learning?
  • Designing work based learning
  • Why review and evaluate?
  • Review and evaluation methods
  • Micro teaching – one to one coaching or work based learning

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify and discuss the difference between individual and work based learning
  • Explain and give an example of use for each of the principles of training
  • Identify preferred learning style and describe its characteristics to the group
  • Design a short training session for another learning style preference
  • Identify the advantages and disadvantages of different work based delivery approaches
  • Design and deliver a section of an individual or work based learning program
  • Discuss the difference between coaching and mentoring as individual learning methods
  • Describe what contributes to effective learning and the qualities of a good facilitation relationship
  • Discuss and design evaluation methods for either one to one or group situations
