This course offers discounts to Australian residents: $50 or free to AMEP eligible students. Bring your passport or proof of residency to enrolment session.

This certificate is recognised as an accreditation of competence in English throughout Australia. CSWE III is the Intermediate/Upper Intermediate level course. It is likely to take up to 12 months to master all the elements of the course.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that SOME of the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the flexible nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

• Demonstrate understanding of a personal viewpoint in a spoken text

• Deliver a short oral presentation
• Demonstrate understanding of a media interview

• Interpret data presented in a graphic text

By the end of the course the student will have:

• Learned and practised a variety of strategies for using spoken English in a variety of contexts.
• Participated in conversations.
• Practised reading for information, direction and enjoyment.
• Practised writing informal and formal texts.

Other Information

ENROLMENT and ASSESSMENT
Student initial interviews/placements dates:

• Monday 2nd February at Cleveland Street 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Please bring folder with paper and pens and a dictionary.

Classes run over two days every week to make up 16 sessions of three hours each.

Each course may take up to twelve months to complete (over four terms) as in each term, only two Learning Outcomes are covered. It is advised to enrol in more than one term of the course so that you receive a certificate in the course rather than just an attendance certificate.

Cleveland St English High, corner Cleveland and Chalmers Sts, Surry Hills (5 min walk from Devonshire St exit of Central Station). Enter from Chalmers St.
