Come and dance to the rhythms of Africa with Pape, a professional dancer and percussionist from Senegal. Feel the beat of the African Drum while you learn traditional steps and dance routines.
If you want to learn African Dance in Sydney, then this course is for you.
Agenda
During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.
Students will learn to dance African dance steps with added techniques in percussion.
Objectives
The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.
By the end of the course the student will have:
- Learned to dance African dance steps while enjoying themselves, keeping fit and meeting new people
Other Information
Be sure to dress in comfortable clothing and shoes.
College Office is located on the cnr Balmain Road and Perry Street, Lilyfield. (Within the grounds of the Orange Grove Public School.) Parking available. Enter on Perry Street. The school hall is in the large brown brick building in the centre of the playground (click on “location” below for directions).
All dance classes are active and therefore you must bring to the attention of the tutor any physical or health-related impairment that may affect your safety.
