This course is a progression from Guitar Intermediate 1.

If you want to further your guitar skills in Sydney, then this course is for you.

You must provide your own guitar and music manuscript book.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

• Learn more music theory – more advanced chords, bar chords, rhythm, improvising and scales
• Examine different playing techniques, pick or finger style
• Play popular songs by Eric Clapton, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Powderfinger, as well as major scale theory and principals of song construction and key signature.

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of the course the student will have:

• Learned more complex techniques for playing the guitar
• Performed a repertoire of enjoyable pieces
• Developed and improved skills of players
