Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - Get Current! (TAE40110)

This course has no current classes. Please join the waiting list.

Our unique TAE Upgrade program will enable you to gain recognition for the skills you already have. The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment includes 10 units of competency. There are 7 core units that are compulsory and 3 elective units. We have selected 5 elective units from which to choose so that we can maximise the mix of delivery and assessment units. Upon successful completion of all activities and the provision of evidence of current competence you will be eligible to gain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110.

During this phase you will identify and provide the documentation you can use as evidence.

Who?

This course is designed for trainers, assessors, teachers and learning and development professionals who wish to upgrade their TAA 40104 or BSZ98 to the new TAE 40110 – the required qualification from June 2012.

How?

The program includes:

  • an individual meeting – What is evidence? How to get started.
  • attending up to 3 days of face to face training or individual mentoring
  • uploading documents to prove what you have done
  • completing activities if you do not have all the required documentation.

There are three phases:

Phase 1 - the program begins with an individual meeting of up to 2 hours where we discuss what evidence is, so that you are able to start gathering documents to demonstrate your currency as a trainer/assessor. We will also discuss the selection of electives. Meetings are conducted by appointment in week 1. You have 4 weeks to submit your evidence.

Phase 2 - the evidence is assessed in weeks 5 and 6, and training and/or mentoring is planned. Where there are common knowledge or skills gaps within a group a training session will be delivered. Otherwise individual mentoring will be provided. Assessment tasks may be integrated into the training/mentoring phase. Assessment tasks may be online, in-class or work-based.

Group training and individual mentoring sessions will be scheduled one day each week in weeks 7, 8 and 9.

In week 6 we will tell you which of these three days you need to attend. For example, if your evidence is fairly comprehensive you may need only need to attend one or two mentoring sessions. Or if there are gaps in your evidence you may need to attend all three days.

Phase 3 - you have 3 weeks to complete any outstanding assessment tasks or upload remaining evidence.

If at the end of the program you have provided current evidence and completed all the learning and assessment tasks to a satisfactory standard, you will have met the requirements of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
