Yoga for Beginners

This course has no current classes. Please join the waiting list.

A course providing a personalised in-depth introduction to yoga for beginners. The course involves Hatha Vinyasa, flow of sequencing of yoga postures, yogic breathing techniques, connection between body movement and breathing, meditation, chanting and deep relaxation with an internationally certified yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance Association.

Agenda

Week 1

*Bring awareness of the body, recognise existing injuries and individual body’s limitations, accept and enjoy working with it.

  • Introduce breathing techniques.
  • Get familiar with basic postures and focus on co-ordinating breath and movement.
  • Information about how to adapt this breathing technique in daily life and the benefit of yoga to calming the mind not only for physical benefit.

Week 2-3

  • Continue and gradually work with more postures, learning names of the posture also.
  • Begin to introduce the basic of sun solute sequence and more vinyasa (flow practice)

Week 4-7

  • Working some more sun salute variations with sequences and add some inversion postures
  • More breathing techniques which benefit the body and mind. Some meditation.

Week 8

*Working with partners and props to help in home practice. Making suggestions for how the students can continue their own practice and recommend some more reading or appropriate classes.

  • Outcome-one: - Realise that yoga is for everyone and it is the way of living life.

Outcome

  • Feel comfortable in their own body and in the general yoga practice
  • Recognise yoga postures and breathing techniques.
  • Adaptation of the practice to the daily life
  • Increase ability to continue practicing yoga on their own or attend some other classes.
  • Outcome-four: Feel more energise, flexible, more concentrate and healthier both mind and body.

Please bring:

  • Yoga mat
  • Bottle of water
  • Towel
