Film Club

If you want to learn about movies in Sydney, then this course of 8 classes is for you.

Do you have a passion for cinema, for films, movies and everything from art-house to blockbuster?
This series of informal but guided meetings is designed for film lovers and those keen to engage in stimulating discussion with a diverse group. Participants meet every week to discuss the must see movies of the past century.
We watch key scenes and moments from a widely varying selection of movies made in the past century.
We go into film history, explore genres, make our own list of must-see movies from across the world and keep a keen eye on what’s coming and what’s worth seeing.
We discuss a current-release film and explore trends in cinema.
We also conduct a movie quiz with small prizes of DVDs and cinema passes at the end of each term.
The club has only just been formed and is defining its shape according to the needs and tastes of those who attend. It is advisable that you get in early to avoid dissapointment.

David O’Brien has long been involved with the film and television industry. David is the writer of an Australian feature film and runs a successful screenwriting workshop for the college. He’s run workshops for Sydney University, Macquarie University and University of New South Wales.
He’s a writer/director with prizes for his short films and has run workshops in writing and direction for high schools throughout New South Wales.
Above all David is an avid cinema (and movie) goer with eclectic tastes.
