Get to Know Your Mac (OSX)
If you want to learn about Mac (OSX) in Sydney, then this course is for you.
This non-accredited course introduces the basic skills required to operate your computer. You will learn how to operate the keyboard and mouse and use windows, create and store simple documents, burn CD’s, use a scanner.

- Quick history of the Mac
- Starting up and logging in
- The basic desktop
- The Mac window
- The Mac menu bar
- The dock
- Preferences and settings
- Using finder to organise your files and folders
Day Two
- Searching and saving searches in your finder
- Launching and quitting applications
- Creating and saving a basic text document
- Apple keyboard shortcuts
- Printing
- Burning CD/DVD
- E-mail and web browsing
- Advanced window management and dashboard
- shutting down and logging out
- Q&A (time permitting)
Objectives
- Turn on a computer and use the basic features of Mas OS X
- Customise and configure Mac OS X
- Manage files and folders
- Open, use and close applications
- Save and print documents
- Burn CDs
- Use the built in mail and web browsing programs
- Shut down the computer
