If you want to learn bookkeeping in Sydney, then this course is for you.
Use hands-on exercises that lead to the practical skills of processing accounts payable and accounts receivable in accounting books. This process is essential to those who want to understand the principles of bookkeeping, whether they use MYOB or other computerised bookkeeping packages. Assessment will be made against BSBADM309A Process Accounts Payable and Receivable, an elective unit of competency from the Certificate II in IT, ICA20105.
Agenda
During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the flexible nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.
- Learning about accounting terms and functions
- Setting up the Purchases and Sales Journal
- Using the Cash Journal
- Practising using procedures for Purchases, Sales and Cash
- Learning about General Journal & Double-entry accounting
- Learning about Final Accounts
Objectives
By the end of the course the student will have:
- Understood the double entry accounting principle
- Learned how to keep a full set of books
- Prepared final accounts
