Send and receive emails including photos and other documents. Assessments are made against the ICAU1133B Send and retrieve information using web browsers and e-mail from the Certificate II in Information Technology, ICA20105.

If you want to learn to use the Internet and send Emails in Sydney, then this course is for you.

Pre-requisite skills: Computing Essentials or equivalent.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered-but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

  • Understand Internet terminology
  • Browse and search the Internet
  • Create shortcuts to your favourite websites
  • Download data
  • Send and receive emails
  • Reply to and forward emails
  • Work with attachments
  • Set email options
  • Add individuals and groups to your contact list

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of the course the student will be able to:

  • Choose and customise a browser to suit their needs
  • Search and access websites and newsgroups
  • Perform basic and advanced searches
  • Locate, save and share information
  • Send and Retrieve emails and attachments (including virus checking files)
  • Research information from the web

Any student attending an accredited course must present photo ID at their first class to receive their qualification.
