Participants may be those who are responsible for security within their organisations. It may also benefit managers, project managers and security officers from retail, financial institutions, government, military, hospitals, airports, industry hotels.

The course has three aims.

1. To provide appropriate professional training to students who are seeking to enter security and law enforcement careers in the corporate/financial, government, military, health or travel sectors.

2. To provide people already working in these industries with opportunities to extend and develop their knowledge, skills and abilities.

3. To provide those seeking licensing as security consultants in NSW with the industry required qualifications

We recognise that it is hard to study whilst working and have developed our courses to involve minimal ‘class’ time, whilst maximizing benefits.

There are three possible pathways which students might undertake:

  • Training – 60 hours face to face training and workplace-based assessment tasks
  • Recognition of prior learning
  • A combination of training and recognition of prior learning

The Certificate IV is delivered at our college and includes workplace-based assessment tasks to be completed in addition to the in-class hours. Online support is available throughout the course.

The recognition process begins with a self-assessment exercise against the requirements of the qualification. Should you decide to proceed from here we will arrange a one hour interview with our assessor. The fee for this interview is $100. At the end of this interview you will have a clear idea of the appropriate pathway for you. Should you decide to proceed with the college the $100 fee is deducted from the full course fee.
