If you want to learn to cook Thai cuisine in Sydney, then this course of 1 class is for you.

Learn how to cook a variety of delicious and healthy Thai foods rarely found in Sydney’s Thai Restaurants. This course will introduce Thai home-made recipes from different parts of Thailand, with an emphasis on using traditional techniques and dishes that are light on the calories. We will enjoy exotic Thai dishes rarely seen in Sydney’s Thai restaurants. Places are strictly limited, so early enrolment is essential.

Course fee includes cost of ingredients.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the flexible nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

Recipes Covered:

• Mieng Kum – Thai Snack (Herbs and nuts with roasted coconut, cooked prawns, chilli and special sauce wrapped in lettuce)
• Yum Nua (Spicy Beef Salad)
• Pad Fak Thong Gai (Stir fried pumpkin with chicken)
• Pla Neung Manow (Steamed fish with garlic and chilli dressing)
• Goong Ob Woon Sen (Steamed prawns with ginger, and vermicelli)

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of the course the student will have:

• Learned the easy way of preparation and cooking low calorie Thai foods using traditional techniques.
• Learned how to cook yummy and healthy foods with authentic Thai style

Other Information

Please Bring:
Sharp knife, apron, tea towel, container, pen & paper and your own cup for tea or coffee.

Leichhardt Campus, Sydney Secondary College (formerly Leichhardt High School) is located on the corner of Balmain Road and Moore Street West. Entry via Derbyshire Street. Onsite parking very limited, some street parking available.
