Learn furniture upholstery skills whilst making your own footstool project. Course fee includes materials for one footstool from a choice of designs valued at $100 retail. See agenda on website for details.

- Decide style, colour and type of stool students will make
- Introduction to footstool box construction
Week 2
- Finish construction of footstool box
- Set out for webbing
Week 3
- Hessian
- Cutting foam
- Fixing foam
Week 4
- Putting dacron
- Styles and fixing of legs
- Stain legs
Week 5
- Secure Legs
- Fixing finished material
- Making good corners
Week 6
- Finishing off with dacron underneath
- Polishing legs
- Discussion of larger projects
Objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- Safely use furniture upholstery tools
- Construct a timber frame
- Upholster a simple furniture item (foot stool)
Other Information
Students need to wear closed in shoes, woman need hair tied back and safety goggles will be provided.
