If you want to learn gentle aqua exercise in Sydney, then this course of 8 classes is for you.

Gentle exercise in the water designed for seniors. Great for arthritis, osteoporosis, injury rehabilitation and improved lifestyle. Work at your own pace in the indoor hydrotherapy pool heated to 31 degrees. Use impact free water to gain strength & get fit. It is also lots of fun and non-threatening.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the flexible nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

Participants in this course will learn the benefits of aquarobics in maintaining health and vitality. Participants will develop water confidence and learn how exercising using water will assist combat the effects of degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis, arthritis. Participants will develop balance skills and improved postural stability as well as strengthen bones and muscle. Seniors aqua is a fun social class that allows the participant to exercises using the freedom and support of water.

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the conclusion of this course participants will have developed

• Greater water confidence
• Learnt the benefits to health and vitality through exercising in water
• Learnt how aquarobics can assist in combating the effects of osteoporosis and arthritis
• developed greater postural stability balance and coordination
