Aquarobics (Shallow Water)
This low impact aerobics class is suspended in water, making it a safe environment. This cardio work out will make fat maintenance easy, strengthen core stability and isolate body parts to make a fabulous fun, injury free and highly motivated total body work out.
NB: Information in Sydney Community College brochure is incorrect. Shallow Aquarobics classes at Cook and Phillip Park are: Mondays 12.30pm and 6.30pm, Tuesdays 6.30am, Wednesdays 12.30pm and 6.30pm, Thursdays 6.30am and Fridays 12.30pm. Enrolment in these courses entitles student to 10 class pass, that can be used at any time.
Agenda
During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.
- Warm up increase
- Cardiac Aerobic Fitness
- Tone body parts (arms, legs and stomach)
- Stretch and cool down
Objectives
The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.
By the end of the course the student will have:
- Learned how to move, balance and develop fitness in the safe environment of water (this will assist in core stability and increased full range of motion within the joints).
Other Information
Enrolment in this class entitles you to a ten (10) session pass. Classes do not have to be consecutive.
Please bring towel and goggles. Swimming caps can be purchased from the swim shop at Cook and Phillip Park.
Cost of locker is $3.50
