Skilled Migrants Mentoring Programme (EmployME)
EmployME! is a NSW Government funded initiative to help skilled overseas professionals gain local work experience in their recognised profession or trade area.
The program provides one-to-one mentoring, to guide Skilled Migrants through the workings of the Australian employment systems. By assisting Skilled Professionals to access at least two weeks of work experience in their area of expertise, participants enhance their pathway into employment. Skilled Professionals will:
• gain an understanding of the Australian labour market, workplace culture and norms;
• develop local employment and business networks.
Participants in the programme range from accountants, engineers, plumbers and nurses to IT professionals. Participants come to you qualified and skilled with many years of overseas experience in their profession or trade. The program aims to help participants gain local work experience, thereby enabling them to search for work in their preferred profession.
Sydney Community College Host Employers in the program will be listed on this website.
As a Host Employer you will benefit by having an expert work for you for at least 2 weeks at no cost to you and know that you are making a positive contribution to the growth of the Nation.
As a Participant Skilled Professional, you will gain valuable experience and contacts.
