My achievements
In 2002 I was awarded the Stephen Lardner Award by Sydney Community College in recognition of continuous outstanding commitment to adult teaching.

My teaching style
The teaching of my courses is instructive and hands-on. The course covers hygiene and preparation of food, how to prepare ingredients and Asian herbs, tips and hints on Asian cooking and where to purchase Asian ingredients. The class is typically divided into groups of 3 and each group prepares 3 dishes per lesson. Supervision of cooking and demonstration of ingredients preparation are provided by me to ensure that students achieve what is expected of the recipe. A sit-down dinner follows, when all groups have completed cooking their respective dishes. I would hope that my students would have appreciated and enjoyed Nonya cuisine but more importantly, would be confident to prepare it for their friends and family at the end of the course.

Something unique or unusual that people might not know about me
My love of all foods and my expertise in Asian cooking, particularly my passion for Nonya cuisine, which is part of my culture, and my enjoyment of teaching adults who show a great love for Asian food and enthusiasm for Asian cooking.
