Samantha Whittingham’s teaching experience covers primary, secondary and adult education. She is a member of a Sydney artist collective called the Stone Villa, based in Sydenham. The Stone Villa studios runs community art projects and has six-month artist residencies to help enrich Sydney’s cultural life.
A practising artist since 1989, Samantha has exhibited internationally and in Australia. In 2010, she was a recipient of the Clitheroe Foundation and Sculpture by the Sea Emerging Sculptor Mentor Program.
Samantha’s teaching style involves bringing together a well structured course with intuitively understanding the students’ individual needs. Above all, she finds teaching students specific skills to gain confidence in their ability particularly rewarding.
Aside from making art, Samantha loves her local community garden where the fruit and veggies grow!
