My teaching style –
It’s always been a mission of mine to change the world and I find that teaching is one of the best ways to do that. Even if I can only help one person in a class to think about something in a new way I consider it a big success. I’m also mindful that teaching isn’t a one-way process so my classes are designed for students to learn from each other and take away information that’s relevant to their interests or work. I use a combination of hands-on group activities, reading and reflection to accommodate various learning styles. ‘Death by overhead/PowerPoint’ is not an option!
Something unique or unusual that people might not know about me –
I’m quite candid about my life so there’s not much that people don’t already know. I have Cerebral Palsy. I am adopted (and recently found my birthmother). My cat is called Zenobia, after the head-kicking Syrian warrior princess and I’ve been obsessed with Mozart and his music since I was about four years old.
