Which Camera, Which Course?

Welcome to Sydney Community College’s Photography Programme!
Sydney Community College’s Photography Program is divided into 2 areas: SLR Cameras (Film or Digital) and Compact Cameras (Manual or Automatic).
Once you know what type of camera you have you need to know which courses are designed for you camera. If in doubt about which camera you have, please contact Lisa Zanderigo on 8752 7521.

Digital SLR Camera Hire

The college has a limited number of Canon Digital SLR cameras with 18-55 IS lens and bag for hire at just $99 per term. You keep the camera for the duration of your course and are responsible for any loss or damage.
Arrange hire in person at the College Office or call Customer Service on 8752 7555. The camera may only be collected one week before the commencement of your course.
A credit security authority of up to $500 is required which is deducted if the camera is damaged, lost or stolen. The camera must be returned within one week of the completion of the course or an additional $50 per week will be charged until it’s returned,
Please call and check with the College before you enrol to ensure there is a camera available, as they go very quickly!

Online Student Photography Network

As part of our programme we have an online student photography network called SCC Photo Zone click here. When you enroll in a Photography course you will be invited to join up to the online network. If you would like to sign up, please go to the following link:

Photography Studio Hire

The Sydney Community College Photography Studio hire service is provided only for students who have completed the Sydney Community College Lighting for Photography course. You must have a working knowledge of the equipment as there will be no-one on hand to assist you, or ask questions, if you don’t know how to use the equipment. The College has a limited number of days/times that the Studio and lighting equipment can be hired out.

Photoshop for Photographers II

This course is designed for intermediate students and will teach you how to produce exciting images using creative Photoshop techniques to enhance your images with “best practice” workflows for high quality image and print making.?
